Ltd., a joint venture between Micromax Informatics and Taiwan’s Phison Technology, has introduced India’s first enterprise‑grade Solid State Drives (SSDs) that are designed and manufactured entirely within the country. This landmark achievement strengthens India’s ambition to become globally self‑reliant in advanced tech.

The move underlines MiPhi’s commitment to digital sovereignty, self‑reliance, and elevating domestic manufacturing to international standards.
Built for High‑Demand Use Cases
Prasad Balakrishnan, CEO of MiPhi, noted that the global data economy is projected to surpass 180 zettabytes by 2025. To support this growth, MiPhi’s enterprise SSDs are engineered for data centres, high‑performance computing, and critical enterprise environments-with ultra‑fast speeds, durability, security, and scalable performance aligned with global benchmarks.
Designed for India’s AI & Cloud Ecosystem:
With enterprise SSD demand expected to surge-from USD 27 billion in 2024 to over USD 50 billion by 2028-and India’s data‑centre capacity projected to exceed 1.3 GW by 2026, local demand is set to rise sharply. MiPhi’s SSDs precisely meet this need, supporting AI, data localisation, edge computing, and the cloud with robust, enterprise‑grade solutions.
Supporting National Initiatives: “Make in India”:
This launch seamlessly aligns with India’s national strategies such as Make in India and Digital India, aiming to develop indigenous technology and reduce import dependence in semiconductors and data storage.
